While studying the book of Acts, looking at the life of Saul , who would later become Paul, I was able to understand some of the similarities in our lives. How Paul was brought up in religion and ceremony , as he says in Philippians 3:5 this was not profitable.
I’m sure some of you have followed the same path as I did, christened, confirmed, sang in the choir, served at the altar and finally a church warden. All of this made me believe that I was a Christian.
Then one day at age of 39, it all changed I was confronted by a born again Christian and overnight realised that I was not a Christian. I saw a life changed and the relationship they had with a man called Jesus. In all my time attending church I had never been told who this man Jesus was. Can you believe it going to church all that time and never being told that Jesus is God. It took a person who never went to church only who only 24 hours before had had a supernatural encounter with Jesus to tell me.
So I started a journey to seek this Jesus, who changed lives. Soon I encountered Him and I was born again and baptised in Holy Spirit. My life was radically changed forever, (2 Corinthians 5:17)
I was a new creation, moving in the spiritual gifts and seeing people saved, healed and delivered. If it said it in the Bible we did it. Then came along came the religious police to tell us we should not and could not do this and because they were Christians of longstanding we listened to them and stopped moving in the supernatural gifts. This meant that we got bogged down in religion.
For 10 years we continued our walk seeing very little of the supernatural nature of God .Down hearted we thought ” is this all it’s going to be for the next 20 years?”.
Now around that time there was an outpouring of the Holy Spirit, a healing revival in Florida so we jumped on a plane and went, we saw many hundreds healed and were stirred in our spirit again by the presence of God.
Since then we have continued to chase after His presence, He is the only one who satisfies. Seeing and experiencing Him afresh is what we hunger for.
We have learnt to guard our hearts from those who would try to discourage us to keep our focus on Jesus. To mix with people who are also traveling in the same direction , who are passionate about Him and seeking His presence.
Proverbs 4:23 says guard your heart for it is the wellspring of life, so life comes from our hearts. Luke 6:45 says that out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks, Proverbs 10:11 says that the mouth of the righteous is a fountain (source) of life.
So seek His presence, guard your heart become a fountain (source) of life to the people that you meet.in your daily lives.
